Hafdís Ásgeirsdóttir
[edit]I was looking at this issue of Hvati, which has a list of Icelandic paralympic medalists up to 2004 (p. 21). The table lists Hafdís Ásgeirsdóttir as having won two bronze medals in table tennis. This is at odds with what the 1984 paralympics page for table tennis states. I feel this needs clarification. 2003:D5:AF2E:E600:9102:9FAF:E0C3:E661 (talk) 08:26, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Morgunblaðið, on July 6 1984, reports on the medal tally as follows (note that this is only for the US part of the games, not the British part):
- So it seems that the two Hafdís's played a double and won a bronze medal there together. I'm not sure why the paralympics webpage does not report this, but I am willing to trust Morgunblaðið's coverage here and will add Hafdís (Ásgeirsdóttir) to this article. 2003:D5:AF2E:E600:9102:9FAF:E0C3:E661 (talk) 08:37, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Other Icelandic reporting from the summer of 1984 also confirms this; there are several articles in Morgunblaðið, Þjóðviljinn and NT, for instance. 2003:D5:AF2E:E600:9102:9FAF:E0C3:E661 (talk) 09:16, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
