Cookie Puss
[edit]Does anyone want me to add a picture of Cookie Puss in the Carvel section? I can take a photo if anyone thinks it's something we should add. --76.173.0.168 (talk) 01:58, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

History and Origin of the ice cream cake
[edit]I feel this page needs to discuss the history and origin of the ice cream cake. Some people claim that Carvel was the first to market the product, while others claim that DQ first marketed the cake. Does anyone know the facts of the matter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.215.54.236 (talk) 07:18, 8 November 2010 (UTC) Jannette201@Yahoo.com. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.31.165.250 (talk) 01:26, 29 May 2013 (UTC) In 1963 I was in tenth grade home-education class at Fort Campbell Kentucky High School. Our Teacher wanted us to go home and invent a dessert and bring it back to class the next day for a grade. I went home, made an angel food cake, sliced the 1/2" top off, carefully scraped out the inside of the cake, making a shell, in which I put strawberries and vanilla ice cream, I had to work fast, put the top back on and frosted it with whip cream and strawberry slices. My mother helped me cover it and put it in the freezer until class the next day. My teacher was impressed and had never heard of anything like that before. Neither had my mom but that was what inventions are all about isn't it? I had never either but was always a bit creative. No Documentation or photos were taken but the cake was declared delicious. It looks as though ice cream cake recipes in the United States predate both establishments. Just so you know, Carvel has the longer history. 159.14.242.253 (talk) 21:20, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
'See Also'
[edit]In regards to this under the 'See Also' section:
Due to celebrations occurring on the 6th of June every year black and gold™ releases a special edition version of the long time family classic available from IGA (an Australian supermarket retailer)
Does anyone have a source? I live in Australia and have never heard of it. June 6th isn't anything in Australia (at least not 'every year'), Black and Gold is a supermarket home-brand, and this limited edition ice cream cake seems extremely dubious Missmelbs (talk) 06:26, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- I concur, and so pulled it due to lack of citation. Josh Parris 08:28, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
ice cream cake MUST contain cake...
[edit]Though original recipes may have been constructed with both ice cream and cake, the Dairy Queen branch sells cakes with only ice cream, fudge, and crumbly bits inside. Given that so many ice cream cakes contain mostly only ice-cream and no batter-made, baked cake, it's misleading to insist that an ice cream cake MUST contain cake. Rather, it MUST contain ice-cream!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.234.245.17 (talk) 21:10, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
