She is not Nigerian

Her being Nigerian was a Twitter joke likely the product of an Ancestry test that showed she had Nigerian ancestry as many African-Americans do. Likely error

'Ice Spice attended State University of New York at Purchase on a full athletic scholarship for volleyball and studied communications.'

SUNY Purchase is a div III school, and div III schools cannot give athletic scholarships of any kind. Amrapp (talk) 16:03, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just to point out specifics, the phrase in the early life section with her birthdate is apparently sourced from the Sportskeeda article. Neither the NYT nor Rolling Stone articles provide her birthdate; they only report where she was born. I'm not sure how reliable Sportskeeda is for this, especially given that other reliable sources conspicuously omit her birthdate when reporting her birth location. --Pinchme123 (talk) 03:40, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Sportskeeda is unreliable per Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, but the interview linked above quotes Ice Spice talking about her own birthday, which seems fairly definitive.
