Greetings,

"The involved aircraft was equipped with the drum and needle altimeter, a type of altimeter that has two different displays for the altitude. […] The type was extensively used in the Boeing 727 during the 21st century."

Is this statement correct or incorrect? The accident occurred in the 20th century.

Regards,

Clean-up and corrections needed, sources in Spanish

[edit]

1. A reference is to a paywalled Spanish site claiming the 148 families of the deceased received an average of 7 million pesetas each, totaling 100 million peseta. 7 million * 148 is over a billion pesetas, not 100 million.

2. Timings continually jump an hour at a time. “at 09:16 First Officer López established contact” then “08:16:03 First Officer López Bilbao Tower, good morning”. This happens repeatedly. The provided link yields “ATENCIÓN - Página web bloqueada”, which seems to say it’s blocked. Perhaps a Spanish speaker can resolve this. 24.154.253.239 (talk) 15:45, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
