Linkedin is not okay to use in any circumstances. "a person generally knows about themselves" - that's right, but you shouldn't be using them as a reference. cook is a primary source, which is not okay to use.

you're contradicting yourself too. I get your point on LinkedIn and how Ian is a primary source and all that, but there are plenty of reliable sources from newspapers etc; why did you delete those? Newspapers aren't gossip (usually).
I am not contradicting myself. I reverted back to Ian's corrections after somebody else had reverted it. Look in the history properly. As a person generally knows about themselves, it can stay.
