seperate article?
[edit]Hey, shouldn't all the info about the band's latest album be put in a seperate article, and not over here? Gneral (talk) 01:35, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
ISetMyFollowersOnFire
[edit]Hey, I wrote something about them being referenced in DOT DOT CURVE :)'s song ISetMyFollowersOnFire, which is a cover of Crank That Cavalry Boy, but it was deleted. why? S= look on youtube, the song exists. it's a screamo version of Crank Dat, just like I Set My Friends On Fire's song. just look up "DOT DOT CURVE :) - ISetMyFollowersOnFire", and stop deleting what I edit (; —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.66.81.209 (talk) 20:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey, the reason why it probably was deleted is because it is not a well known band/group. It is just a youtube band. If a REAL band covered the song, then it might get mentioned. Jordan199311 (talk) 00:39, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Screams?
[edit]Shouldn't the article at least reference the screaming thing? I mean, they aren't screamo, but most bands don't do quite that much screaming. It's something that makes them unique, and it deserves to be mentioned in here somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.14.221.179 (talk) 03:33, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Screaming is extremely common in Post-Hardcore/Metalcore bands. It doesn't need to be mentioned. 68.118.179.129 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC).
No, it shouldn't be mentioned. ISMFOF aren't screamo, but neither is a lot of other bands who ONLY scream. Cold Phront (talk) 01:40, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Also, there is a lot of clean singing, look at the song Things That Rhyme With Orange, thats their most famous original song. Jordan199311 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:59, 26 January 2010 (UTC).
They Scream in their songs, Jesus shut up —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.117.207.201 (talk) 00:07, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Split
[edit]Stop splitting off the album. It's better to have one longer article than two short ones, and the disambiguation names are getting ridiculous. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many otters • One bat • One hammer) 19:35, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Chris Lent
[edit]He is a official member now, as the band has said so in many interviews. He is not live only. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.7.178.6 (talk) 23:55, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
However, the article should not say "the trio put out their first album..." because he did not help with the making of "You Can't Spell Laughter..." It should be changed to reflect that the album was made my the two original members and describe Lent's addition to the band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.45.43.98 (talk) 00:39, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Move
[edit]The article should be moved to "I Set My Friends on Fire". Lower case "O". It's locked so mortals cannot move it. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:15, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
nabil
[edit]if nabil did leave? where did u get this info? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 22:11, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand how Nabil "Left during studio time" If you can find videos of them playing BamBoozle 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.72.111.45 (talk) 23:50, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- He left during their second phase in the studio. If you don't believe me, then here's proof:
- That is Blake playing guitar, not Nabil. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SilverxPacker (talk • contribs) 17:38, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Question?
[edit]I've been following this band to find some vital info on the little orange monster in the "things that rythme with orange" video...WHAT IS HIS NAME? hahaha
I'm not certain, but in a bunch of vids on their youtube channel they use a few stuffed animals... maybe it's a gimmick? Atomforyou (talk) 01:29, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Edit request from JBuckland96, 4 September 2010
[edit]{{editsemiprotected}} Please change "Fagget With A Mask On - guitar (2010–Present)" to "Blake Steiner - Guitar (2010-Present) because "Fagget With A Mask On - guitar (2010–Present)" is false, homophobic and unnecessary to this article.
JBuckland96 (talk) 05:40, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed, and I've chided the vandal. Odd, the editor's been making what could be considered constructive edits otherwise. Tony Fox (arf!) 05:47, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Edit request from 69.115.249.97, 5 September 2010
[edit]{{editsemiprotected}} The guitarist is Blake Steiner.
And Nelson Moo, as far as I know, does not exist.
Same for Fagget With a Mask On. Atomforyou (talk) 01:23, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Partly done: Removed Nelson Moo since I couldn't find him in the references or in a google search with the band's name, removed "Fagget with a mask on" as dubious and a potential BLP problem. Please provide a reference to confirm that Blake Steiner is the guitarist. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 15:33, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
matt
[edit]its spelled matt mehana, and he should be listed as vocals, lyrics —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 22:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- The references seem to support the spelling as Mihana, including newspaper references. It seems unlikely that the spelling is incorrect. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 23:36, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
its on his facebook as mehana —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 05:42, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
its also is spelled mehana on his highschool's wiki page under Notable alumni —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 05:46, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Facebook and wikis are not reliable sources. All of the references I have looked at (largely newspaper articles) give his name as Matt Mihana. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 07:57, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
yes, wikis are not reliable, includeing this one. since you cant evan spell his name right. for some reason if you type matt mihana into wikipedia you get nothing. if you type in matt MEHANA it redirects here. on top of that. his facebook is spelled matt mehana and his myspace. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 22:18, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
does any one know when there new album will drop?
[edit]2011 sometime —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 05:40, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Italicization curiosity
[edit]The article title when actually being visited is shown in italics, as if it were an album. Why is it that the page was italicized if all other band pages are not? --ҚЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 01:28, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
genre and website link
[edit]i changed the webpage link to www.myspace.com/isetmyfriendsonfire someone keeps reverting it to www.isetmyfriendsonfire.com, www.isetmyfriendsonfire.com leads to go daady domain with a generic search engine.
also the genre is not deathcore, it is debatable between metalcore and post-hardcore —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.215.106 (talk) 01:18, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Genres
[edit]Alright, I've heard suggested genres from grindcore to deathcore to metalcore. Grindcore and deathcore are derivatives of death metal, and this band certainly doesn't perform in that style. Metalcore seemed more feasible to me, but this band isn't known for its breakdowns and is nothing like most modern metalcore. Then... I discovered... mathcore! [1[2 Mathcore is a fusion of metalcore, grindcore, and math rock (an experimental rock music genre). Mathcore is known for unusual time signatures and other experimental characteristics. I certainly feel that this properly describes the band. Other primary genres that the band represents include experimental metal and electronica.--♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... genre
[edit]the genre is experimental, so if you're the scene kid who keeps changing the genre to "crunkcore" stop. because its obviously not crunkcore fool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.237.254.76 (talk) 11:35, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
Genre
[edit]Ok They are not crunkcore they are mathcore but every time i change it some one changes it back — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yeahjd (talk • contribs) 00:35, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

The most referenced and accurate genres
[edit]Here they are: Post-hardcore, electronica, experimental, mathcore
- I agree completely --♪ ChrisBkoolio ... (Talk) 22:30, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- By "most referenced", do you mean not referenced at all, but fit in with your POV? Please read WP:RS before adding things like "mathcore" and "avant-garde metal"; if no sources are found, they're not being included. A read of WP:GENRE WARRIOR might be worth it as well. [edit]Chris Lent returned to the band? Travis Richter is a official guitarist of the band? serch references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chemikalero9 (talk • contribs) 16:51, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Recent edits
[edit]I've been looking over the recent edits to section 1.4. I have found no reference to Chris Lent leaving the band, nothing related comes up with a Google search, and I don 't know where the editor is getting his "rumors" but I have found nothing of the kind. Consider rewriting or revising. Bonkifai (talk) 15:25, 3 March 2012 (PST)
