Peer Review
[edit]1) First, what does the article do well? Is there anything from your review that impressed you? Any turn of phrase that described the subject in a clear way? Your themes section is the best part of your article- I love that you provided examples and explained the themes you suggested.
2) What changes would you suggest the author apply to the article? Why would those changes be an improvement?
I think you should add Marie’s father to your character list because his character provides the audience with an idea of how the town views white people. I really like your synopsis, but I think you can get rid of the first sentence because I’m not sure it does much for the understanding of this novel.
3) What’s the most important thing the author could do to improve the article?
I think adding another section of “awards” would benefit the article and, I would link more other Wikipedia articles to provide more background. For example, not many people know what Kurkus is, so I think you could link to the Wiki article on that.
4) Are there any details from your assessment of each category above that you would like to point out to the author?
You did a great job at remaining neutral; I truly don’t know if you liked this book or not. Additionally, I think your themes section would be better organized if you broke it into bullet points because I feel it would be easier to follow that way.
5) Did you notice anything about the article you reviewed that could be applicable to your own article? Let them know!
Providing examples for the themes you identified is something I will investigate regarding my own article. Overall, great job!
