Meaning
[edit]I Call Your Name appears to be about a guy trying to forget the girl he loves by sleeping with other women. However, he still calls out her name during sex. This is vague in the first refrain:
Oh I can’t sleep at night, since you’ve been gone. I never weep at night I can’t go on
The phrasing is more obvious the second time emphasizing not crying (into his pillow alone at night) but calling her name (during sex with other women):
Oh I can’t sleep at night, but just the same I never weep at night I call your name
