Good article nomination removal
[edit]Tease Pillar – I have reverted your edit that nominated this article for the GAN process. I do not mean to sound discouraging, but I believe this article is far from meeting the good article criteria and, therefore, warrants an immediate failure. I noticed you created your own GA review, which I assume was a mistake, but this prevented me from taking the proper action in the case of an immediate failure. You can undo my edit if you disagree with me, but I would advise examining the following before renominating:
- Typical components of GA-Class song articles are lacking or missing entirely, such as a "Music/composition" section, a "Commercial performance" section, the song's genre, etc.
- Much of the information is unsourced, such as the February 12th release date, the entire music video synopsis, and the claim that the song being lauded by critics
- Several of the sources are questionable, including but not limited to: urbanbridgez.com, musicianguide.com, YouTube fan-upload #2, YouTube fan-upload #3
- Some facts are cited by publications that, in my experience, are typically regarded quite poorly on Wikipedia. Sources like CNN and IMDb could and should be easily replaced
- Additional sources are being incorrectly used to justify false claims. A fan-uploaded clip of the music video is being used to cite the video's director, release date, and filming location. The video link provided contains no such information.
- Other sources are incorrectly constructed and/or missing important information (for example, "Press, Associated" is used as someone's last and first name, the date formatting is inconsistent [2016-03-07 and April 7, 2001], sometimes Billboard is italicized and sometimes it is not, etc.)
- The "Formats and track listings" section contains zero sources but takes up roughly a third of the article space.
- As the debut single of Johnson's discography, this article neglects to mention its impact on her career or how she even named her 2008 greatest hits album after the song. Furthermore, her opinion regarding the track was widely covered by various publications ([1] [2]) due to her business relationship with R. Kelly, yet this is only mentioned in the lead and not the body.
Firstly, familiarizing yourself with the criteria at WP:GACR would be recommended too. That project page will seriously further an editor's understanding of the GAN process and ensure a consistent editing quality across the articles. This is not to say that "I Am Your Woman" will never be a 'good article', but it needs significant improvement before that may happen. Keep up the editing, Carbrera (talk) 20:01, 27 November 2020 (UTC).
