Talk:IT Service Management Forum
This article is rated Start-class on Wikipedia's content assessment scale. |
The article needs to be much clearer in its definition of the itSMF. The original organization was named the IT Infrastructure Management Forum (ITIMF) and served just the United Kingdom. It was renamed to the itSMF UK on the 2nd of April 1997. The article implies it has operated in its current format since 1991, it has not, neither in name, nor as an elected, membership driven body.
The itSMF International organization was incorporated as a UK company on July 26th 2004. As of May 1st, 2006, records indicate it has no staff, no electoral system, a newly appointed board (November 2005), and is operations managed by the staff of itSMF UK. There is no published governance scheme explaing how it interoperates with the internationally formed 'country chapters' beyond them having one vote each at the Annual General Meeting.
Three officers are named in the company record for itSMF International. There are extremely strong polictical and organizational ties with itSMF UK. Up to date information on both organizations is available via the public record at Companies House, London UK where all company records are lodged and stored.
The US equivalent of the itSMF UK, itSMF USA was formed in 1996 by ITSMI, ManageOne, and HP. Itsmi 21:52, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
review & revision
[edit]Dear all, I like to do some review and revision for this article. My ideas about a structure:
- introcdution as international movement
- history
- relation
- international activities
- national chapters
Any good hints to do the revision? Any mind to do nothing? --Bernd F Dollinger (talk) 14:41, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- Now I did an entire revision - some feedback about this? --Bernd F Dollinger (talk) 21:57, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
