Involvement in the 1964 coup in Brazil
[edit]The section entitled "Involvement in the 1964 coup in Brazil" suggests that ITT Corp was involved in the 1964 Brazilian coup d'état. But, most of what the section does is summarise the events of the coup and its consequences, and has nothing to actually say about ITT. The only actual allegations against ITT the section makes is (1) its CEO at the time was friends with the CIA director who supported the coup, and (2) several years later, ITT hired the same CIA director when he retired from the CIA. If that's all there is, it doesn't demonstrate any ITT involvement in the coup. I think, unless someone can come up some more solid evidence of ITT Corp involvement, the whole section need to go. Therefore, I will remove this section from the article. SJK (talk) 10:12, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
ITT Semiconductors
[edit]Is "ITT Semiconductors" synonymous with "Intermetall", at least when it was an ITT subsidiary, or is "ITT Semiconductors" a different subsidiary of ITT, or is there something else going on?
ITT Semiconductors currently redirects here (to ITT Inc.). Alas, this article never mentions "ITT Semiconductors".
To comply with the WP:R#PLA guideline, I feel that either
- (a) this page should say a few words about "ITT Semiconductors", or
- (b) The "ITT Semiconductors" redirect should be re-pointed to some article that *does* say a few words about "ITT semiconductors".
If I understand Wikipedia correctly, "Intermetall" started as an independent company, then ITT bought "Intermetall", and then later ITT spun out that subsidiary and sold it to Micronas, which later became TDK-Micronas. But is that the same group as "ITT Semiconductors"?
Several pages on the web seem to tell me that "ITT Semiconductors" seems to be notable enough to at least be mentioned by Wikipedia.[1][2][3][4][5] --DavidCary (talk) 17:10, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
