Final character is district codes

[edit]

Is the final character an alphabetic letter or just a (seemingly hexadecimal) digit? The historic changes to the standard make it seem like the latter, with (for example) "F" being revised to "15" (conversion from hexadecimal to decimal) and being added to the rest of the string, but this conversion happened only for region "10" and has not yet been implemented for region "20", which makes the system inconsistent under this interpretation. One would have expected "20A" to become "210", which seems to be available in principle as well as in practice. IbexNu (talk) 04:14, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Need to verify historical info.

[edit]

For the 2016-11-15 row in the table of historical changes to this standard, I would like review on two entries:

  1. The entry "0E". Is it originally "0E" or was it "10E" in the documentation? It seems clear to me that it was '''supposed''' to be the latter, but the ISO document may have had a typo too, which would nonetheless be the definitionally correct code at the time.
  2. I corrected "10F5" to "10F" because the latter matches the pattern and was the information which was provided in the adjacent cell. But we should verify that this is consistent with the original documentation.
