The result of the move request was: page moved. This was already done since September 15th by Bkonrad. I retargetted Isil to a more appropriate target, since "Isil" is not in allcaps and is not an acronym (unlike "ISIL"), and only one topic at ISIL (disambiguation) is not allcaps/nor an acronym : the one to which I have retargetted Isil (with a hatnote, of course). (If there is disagreement, I won't object to a WP:RfD). ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 23:03, 22 September 2014 (UTC) ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 23:03, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Isil → ISIL (disambiguation) – or alternatively to ISIL (a namespace that currently serves as a redirect to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). The most significant items in the disambiguation are all acronyms. Gregkaye ✍♪ 05:54, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- Agree this is now a misplaced DAB after recent move without consensus, and a currently incorrect ISIL (disambiguation) -redirecting-> Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. As most terms are caps, it should be located at ISIL (disambiguation) - it should be with a primary topic redirect. As this is undoing a recent move (to some extent), I've asked for CSD G6 move over redirect to fix, which I assert is uncontroversial maintenance is per WP:MOSDAB. If I had admin I would have just done it. Is there move permissions? Anyhow, the mover Red Slash - does that sound good to you? Due to this being one of our top articles, want to fix this quickly. I only just saw this move request after I'd CSDed it. Widefox; talk 17:36, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- I've formatted it ready for the move (with a primary topic redirect per WP:DABPRIMARY). Widefox; talk 17:42, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- I've fixed Isil (disambiguation) which was redirecting to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant instead of to this dab (same as the ISIL (disambiguation) incorrectly does). The hatnote at Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant was incorrectly linking directly to this dab instead of using Isil (disambiguation). Fixed, and done by using a redirect hatnote with the lowercase, until after the move, when it should be switched to the uppercase. That way readers aren't inconvenienced. - Strong support precisely as proposed. I cannot imagine any reasonable argument that there is anything abbreviated ISIL people are looking for more or which has more long-term educational significance than the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. I await such an argument. Red Slash 21:40, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- Support Isil & ISIL → Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. I'm all for making navigation and wlinking to be a simple as possible. Indian Society of International Law has 300 pageviews in 30 days. International Society for Individual Liberty has 842 pageviews in 30 days and International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organizations has 5,833 pageviews in 30 days. Compare those pageviews in total (6,965) to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's 2,528,594 pageviews in 30 days there's a ratio of 0.275% to 99.72%. Currently the ISIL page has a diambig hatnote for ISIL (disambiguation) and ISIS (disambiguation) which should take care of those less than 1 in 400 times the incorrect page is found.~Technophant (talk) 23:12, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment There's also a related discussion for RfD of where Islamic State should redirect to here.~Technophant (talk) 23:16, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
