[edit]

There has been a bit of activity on the Improv Olympic wikipedia pages, primarily due to people, I'm guessing affiliated with the theater, writing material that violates several policies of the Wikipedia.

The merger is suggested specifically for the following reason: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_dictionary

The I.O. and I.O. West entry has violated the following policy in the past, looking more like an advertisement than presenting neutral information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view

This change is first being suggested before implementation in the spirit of complying with the following policies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_battleground —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.166.185.25 (talk) 03:34, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

historically David Shepherd came up with the idea in 1972 as part of the Players Workshop, and he and Charna created Improv Olympic later in 1982. Del Close did not come along till later. He did not found it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.15.215.145 (talk) 17:11, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

The page title and all references should read iO, not IO or I.O. - 187.20.69.22 (talk) 04:58, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Theater Sold

[edit]

The theater was sold in July 2021. I added the sale to the history section, but someone who is better than I am at writing Wikipedia articles might want to revise it.

I included 2 citations. One is the Chicago Sun-Times and the other is the New York Times.
