Non-PC explanation?
[edit]This article is factually wrong about the sequence of events leading to the loss of the mission. I don't know if there is a politically correct mythology blessed by the spacecraft manufacturer and the Indian government, but I was the senior attitude control engineer on that mission and I know what happened. I corrected the article but my edit was reverted by bgwhite with no explanation. Let me leave it here since corporate, policy and/or insurance issues may be involved.
