[edit]

An authorized Wikipedia user removed the society vision statement. Perhaps it was not following some parts of the Wikipedia guidelines. The society committee on Web and Information decided to place a short about "section" that is copied verbatim from the society Web site. I just executed that notion. Perhaps it should be quoted to avoid considerations of plagiarism? Olek (talk) 05:12, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The text should not be copied from another website- it should simply be rewritten in your own words. If you have a committee who wants to handle this stuff, then the committee could write some new text. The text that you pasted in is copyright by IEEE, and so we can't just copy it into wikipedia. It's a bit long in my opinion to be included as a quotation, and there doesn't seem to be any real reason to do so. I replaced the copied text with a very short description- if you think there's more important info, feel free to add. Staecker (talk) 14:34, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
