[edit]OK, Brown Shoes22 has gone and created the wiki for the Supreme Power Hyperion. So as usual we have to clean up after him. Unless someone gets to it first, I will try to clean these up... I guess a deletion of the miniseries is the next step, since its contents have been merged here (albeit with far too much detail). The same needs to happen for Nighthawk too. I will add a cleanup tag right away. Dyslexic agnostic 08:55, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
I have redirected the miniseries to this page. Clean-up still required though. BS22, stay away! Dyslexic agnostic 09:07, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
...of course, we now have the problem that Supreme Power is now Squadron Supreme again, which makes the names of text/articles for the various characters a little more problematic. --Mrph 17:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Superman?
[edit]Is this guy just Marvel's version of Superman? (I really don't know a whole lot about comics. I ask out of curiosity, and I intend no insult toward Marvel.) SigmaEpsilon → ΣΕ 03:08, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well not this version, he's based on the original version of Hyperion. But I do think that Hyperion and the rest of the Squadron Supreme are based on the Justice League. Hyperion=Superman. Nighthawk=Batman. Shape=Plastic Man. Dr. Spectrum=Green Lantern etc. RIANZ 02:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- The Nighthawk is different from past versions. In older comics, Nighthawk was more of a Hawkman character. Now he's like Batman.
Hyperion III
[edit]I've fact tagged this claim - at least partly because the Hyperion (comics) article disagrees with the numbering. WP:CMC guidelines also make it clear that Roman numerals shouldn't be used to disambiguate multiple versions of a character... so unless Marvel has been using this numbering, we shouldn't either... --Mrph 00:23, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Changes
[edit]OK...this article has been tidied up with many of the correct sources and links added. The biggest change is the removal of the "blow by blow" synopsis of each issue of the title. It should be avoided on Wikipedia as it usually creeps into POV courtesy of emotive words. Passion for a topic is fine...but the information needs to be presented objectively. The "tell the story" element that was present here was one step off just scanning in the panels for each comic. This type of thing is best suited to fan sites, not Wikipedia. All that is needed is the GIST. That is, "X finally defeats Y" (source added) as opposed to "X whips out his blaster and shoots but misses, and Y counter-attacks..."
That said, I have to agree with the sentiment expressed by the original poster that this article did not need to be created. ALL this information - plus a full biography on the two villainous versions and an alternate universe version - can be found at the Hyperion (Marvel Comics) entry.
I propose, therefore, that this article either be deleted or redirected to the previously mentioned article.

- I concur, for we know Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_an_indiscriminate_collection_of_information what Wikipedia is not, i.e., a repository for plot summaries. This is something I've come to understand over time and believe others may have also been unaware of this. I will second your proposed merger should you propose it, Asgardian.
