the James Playfair referred to in the article is not the Scottish architect linked in Wikipedia, but was an Ontario business entrepreneur born in 1861 (Scotland in one source I have found, Toronto in another) who operated in Midland, Ontario and died in 1937. when I can get more information about him I will draft an entry.
