wat is this i dont even
[edit]This is absurd.
- Indeed. This 5-minute regional fad from 50 years ago does not deserve an article. Until I found the tiny Time article, I was convinced it was bogus. This is no different than any Internet fad (or meme, as sycophants of Richard Dawkins insist on calling them). --Tysto (talk) 02:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- The vast majority of people who use the word meme in this context have no idea who came up with the word originally. Most of them don't even know how to pronounce it (most people say "me me").[citation needed] --129.11.249.164 (talk) 17:54, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Printed Book
[edit]I'm going to my local library to take a look at the entry for this to get an idea if there's more content we could use and to judge the "RS-iness" of the source. Hasteur (talk) 12:14, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Asia comparison is misleading
[edit]The article describes the position as sitting on the balls of the feet in a squatting position, and claims this has been used in Asia for centuries. In the "Asian squat", one is actually not up on the balls of the feet; rather the heels are grounded. This is an important difference because when the heels aren't grounded, great stress is placed on the knees. Actually, many of the pictures of people hunkering in Life show the heels grounded as well, so I say we just remove "on the balls of their feet" from the first sentence of this article. --Evan R.
