My thoughts about this article and Intrapersonal communication
[edit]Human communication is a vast subject (since it encompasses nonverbal communication, speech, writing, visual, Internet etc.) and I think this article might become much longer in the future. I added some mentions of these different types of communication into the article. But I think the first item in the list of communication types, "Intrapersonal communication (communication with oneself)" could be removed since I think this article is about communication between humans. Maybe move it to the "See also" list? 176.93.61.49 (talk) 00:43, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I just noticed that this article is about a field of study instead of human communication. I was reading Wikipedia articles about dog and cat communication, and then the article Human, and these things together mislead me when entering this article. I won't edit it further. I guess the nature/definition of this article might be a controversial subject. Is there discussion somewhere in Wikipedia about these types of articles? About whether we should write Wikipedia for people or write more objectively, like having non-human readers in mind? Thanks. 176.93.61.49 (talk) 01:09, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Proposed Merger
[edit]I propose merging Face-to-face interaction with Human communication. Face-to-face interaction does not seem to entirely meet the notability guidelines, and I believe it would better serve as a subcategory of human communication.
@Samf4u, DB1729, Allforrous, Neils51, Rodw, Wassell, Obim7, Pppery, and Alainaqazi: I’ve pinged the most recent editors of both pages that might have an opinion on this. If anybody supports or opposes this, please say something. Miralitt (talk) 13:57, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
Given that it has been approximately a week since I proposed this and no discussion has taken place, I will begin to enact the merger. Miralitt (talk) 01:27, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- I did not notice this proposal, but I'd have likely objected. Setting aside the detail that the merger discussion was not bottomposted here (I fixed it while replying), a simple GScholar query shows this is a notable subtopic. I think we will need to split it off shortly. Sorry to say, but it seems like a pointless make-up work (instaed we could use someone willing to spend time and do the mergers related to the Information Age, for example). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:01, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
