Could someone help me designate the HAP logo as the default photo for the page? That appears to be how PBOT did it Portland Bureau of Transportation - the HAP logo is already on the page. Many thanks. Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:30, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

@Gangstaoflove The logo's in the infobox, so I'm not sure what you're asking here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:35, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
If you search for Human Access Project in Wikipedia an icon with a blank piece of paper shows up. If you search for Portland Bureau of Transportation a logo shows up next to the name.
Try typing Human Access Project in the search box 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:43, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove Ah, I see what you mean now. I think the issue might be that File:Seal of Portland, Oregon.svg is in the public domain and lives at Wikimedia Commons, whereas File:Human Access Project logo.png lives here at English Wikipedia as a non-free logo. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:03, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
Got it - I will load to Wikipedia commons if your up for trying to substitute 😁👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 18:07, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove  Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:33, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Article structure

@Gangstaoflove: I tried re-arranging the text into three sections: Site improvements, Events, and River Hugger Swim Team. The events subsection is further divided, with subsections for The Big Float, the Mayoral Swim, and the Valentine's Dip. I'd like to think this is a better way to organize the content as the page grows, as opposed to presenting a strictly chronological timeline, but let me know what you think. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:00, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Super - love it - great 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 20:04, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
👍 Like This should make updating easier in the future, too. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:13, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Invite

@Gangstaoflove: I've created a very short "stub" article based on your request on my talk page. I'm sure you'd prefer to see a fleshed out entry. If there are specific facts and sources you'd like to see added, please feel free to share them here for editors like myself to review. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:17, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Got it thank you!

Finally getting around to having a chance to do some work on this.

I would like to add a history section for audrey mccall beach, the big float and human access project.

Can you help set it up or direct me on how to start this?

Thank you!!! 😁😁 Gangstaoflove (talk) 15:58, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Gangstaoflove, Do you have sources confirming the date of establishment and mission, apart from the org's website? Wikipedia relies on secondary coverage such as newspaper articles, books, etc. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Well - HAP started organizing the first TBF in October 2010 for its first year in 2011. No documentation outside of documenting the first TBF was 2011 and it clearly takes planning time.

For the mission that is taken directly from the org website which is sited as being official. Seems safe and reasonable to lift the stated mission off the official org website. What else could be provided?

Thank you!! Gangstaoflove (talk) 16:43, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Gangstaoflove, I've already said, Wikipedia uses news and similar sourcing. If these claims cannot be verified appropriately, then they should not be added. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:45, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

@Gangstaoflove: Please remember to only add information which is confirmed in reputable journalistic coverage such as newspaper articles. Also, be sure to included these references with the added text. Otherwise, your work will continue to be reverted. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:02, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

@another believer Thanks I have some energy to give this another try, thanks for hanging in there with me. All the changes I made are from the Human Access Project website. I would figure the Board of Directors, mission and founder could reasonably be attributed to the organizaton's website. Where else would this information be able to be found that is considered reputable? Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gangstaoflove (talkcontribs) 22:05, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

@Gangstaoflove: You cannot use the organization's website to add any information. Company websites are not considered appropriate sources for Wikipedia. Stick to newspapers, journals, and books. If the information cannot be found in sources like those then the details don't belong on Wikipedia, plain and simple. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:07, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Roger! Back at it. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gangstaoflove (talkcontribs) 22:21, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Howdy - I noticed my edits were ok - just wanted to be sure I was on the right track before I dug in more.

Thank you again for your coaching 🏆 Gangstaoflove (talk) 01:30, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

(When I say ok - I mean they weren’t deleted - just was ‘t positive you saw them yet 😁) Gangstaoflove (talk) 01:31, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

@Gangstaoflove: I've created a subsection for the River Hugger Swim Team for expansion. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:02, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
Also! Any chance you could help
me add a photo for The Big Float? Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:21, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
On The Big Float page Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:21, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove Images are tricky because the media must be freely-licensed. I don't see any images of the Big Float on Wikimedia Commons, but if you've taken any photographs and want to donate them, you can try uploading here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:02, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
I just added four photos! I titled them The Big Float, maybe you can find them under my username? Thank you for your help, I can add some River Hugger photos and other referenced items as well. Gangstaoflove (talk) 23:36, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove Thanks! I've created commons:Category:The Big Float and added an image to Big Float. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:57, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
Super - I also just uploaded a photo of the River Hugger Swim Team if you could possibly add that to the HAP page 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 02:32, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:02, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
AB - thanks again for all your edits.
I just uploaded a photo of Duckworth Summer Wednesday’s I was hoping could go on the Duckworth Page and be used as a “profile” photo for the HAP page. Gangstaoflove (talk) 14:53, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove I've added the image to Kevin Duckworth Memorial Dock. Thanks for your continued work on these articles. When posting comments about specific entries, I recommend using specific Talk pages, such as Talk:Kevin Duckworth Memorial Dock. Thanks again! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:59, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
So like rather than an explanation of the edit explain it on talk? Gangstaoflove (talk) 15:02, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove No, no. I just meant editors generally post comments about specific entries on their respective talk pages. So, discussions about the Dock belong at Talk:Kevin Duckworth Memorial Dock, discussions about Poet's Beach belong at Talk:Poet's Beach, etc. Not a big deal, just trying to help keep things organized so they don't get lost in this one big HAP thread. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:05, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
Got it! I will try that! Maybe one last thing on this thread - it would be nice to have a HAP photo on the HAP page right now it’s just an icon placeholder of a piece of paper. Any recommendations of an appropriate photo to represent HAP? Gangstaoflove (talk) 15:13, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
I don't follow. The HAP page has the logo in the infobox. What are you proposing here? ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:18, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Photos

I added a bunch of photos for misc items, the first Big Float, Mayoral Swim and Valentine's Dip, Audrey McCall Beach and Tom McCall Beach before photos. 2603:3004:622:6800:4534:AE67:F6A8:8CF7 (talk) 20:05, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

Also added photo of Guinness World Record Float 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:24, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for adding so many images to Wikimedia Commons. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:27, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
Also added photo of performing Our River at City Hall with Lisa Reinhardt. Gangstaoflove (talk) 17:52, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
The HAP logo file was deleted from the page. I re-uploaded the log file in Wikipedia commons. The file name is HAP_Clear_Logo.png. Could you help put it back on the page? Gangstaoflove (talk) 02:03, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:12, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you 😊🙏🏽 Gangstaoflove (talk) 02:42, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
A bot took down the logo file again - am I doing something wrong when I am uploading? Gangstaoflove (talk) 03:40, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
I've uploaded the logo under fair use at File:Human Access Project logo.png. Added to infobox. ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:44, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

subsection for Tom McCall Waterfront Park?

Similar to the Cathedral Park subsection, we might consider creating a subsection called Tom McCall Waterfront Park, with details about the Tom McCall Bowl Beach, too. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:23, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

That would be great 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 19:29, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
@Gangstaoflove  Done Some cleanup might be needed for flow, but I've grouped text related to McCall Waterfront. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:33, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
Super - will take a look - many thanks! Gangstaoflove (talk) 19:38, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
I just added Tom McCall Beach photos 👍🏼 Gangstaoflove (talk) 19:46, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
