Errant Entries

[edit]

Removed the entry: 1930 - Dr Tom Lenagan, The New Testament and Mathematics: The Hello Sailor Paradox. There is no support in Stephenson, The Rise and Decline of English Modernism (1979). There is currently a Tom Lenagan in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, but he was not publishing in 1930.

Removed the entry: 1970 - Michael Ramsey, Freedom, Faith and the Future. The Archbishop makes clear in the preface of that book that he was appointed Hulsean "Preacher" not "Lecturer". Hulsean Preacher is a different appointment than the Hulsean Lecturer. Furthermore, there is no support in Stephenson, The Rise and Decline of English Modernism (1979). --DFS —Preceding undated comment added 16:53, 29 May 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Removed the entry 1972 — Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh, The God in Whom I believe. The Metropolotan was appointed Hulsean Preacher not Lecturer. The Hulsean Preacher is a different appointment than the Hulsean Lecturer. Furthermore, there is no support in Stephenson, The Rise and Decline of English Modernism (1979), and the Sermons were delivered in January–February 1973, when Maurice Wiles held the Hulsean Lectureship. One of the Sermons has been published in The Messenger, No. 19 (March 2012): 2-9. (D. F. Salmon (talk) 02:11, 23 January 2016 (UTC))[reply]
