Alma mater
[edit]User:Jadmeliora has changed Bedau's (doctoral) alma mater from Harvard to Boston. No explanation given, so I am reverting. As far as I can see, none of the sources we currently cite give any details about his educational route (though I haven't checked the NYT obituary, behind a paywall). However, according to SUNY Albany, which holds his archive (here), "Bedau completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Redlands in 1949, did his graduate work at Boston University, and attained his doctorate in 1961 from Harvard University", citing Who's Who in America, 62nd ed. 2008. Some of that could be added, but Harvard appears to be correct for his doctorate. GrindtXX (talk) 13:40, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- "He received his undergraduate education at the naval training program at USC and at the University of Redlands, where he graduated in 1949. He completed his masters at Boston University (1951) and his PhD (1961) at Harvard," citing from the description of Hugo Bedau, papers, 1949-2001 1955-1999 1949-2001, bulk 1955-1990. (Tufts University - Tisch Library). WorldCat record id: 759511540. Boston's alumni listing here confirms 1951 for his graduation year. Jadmeliora (talk) 20:32, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
