[edit]I found it troublesome to document the two marriages of Charles Elliott. But I see there is good information in Burke's Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry 1965, vol. 1. http://bartonhistory.wikispaces.com/*Barton+1966 cites a reliable source, published in Country Life.
