Hmmm...

[edit]

Certainly not a very good description of Heuvos Rancheros. Maybe texmex heuvos rancheros, or carribean or something but certainly not Mexican. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunoco (talkcontribs) 19:39, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Olives?

[edit]

Who the hell wrote this?

"The basic version of huevos rancheros consists of corn tortillas fried lightly, and fried eggs with a tomato–chili sauce. Refried beans (frijoles refritos), slices of avocado, fried potatoes, olives, and extra chili peppers are common accompaniments. Scrambled eggs can be used instead of fried eggs."

Olives? Avocado? Tortillas lightly fried?

I'm from Mexico and this is definately NOT "huevos rancheros"... Mexicans don't use olives in breakfast... (does anyone? olives for breakfast?)

Huevos rancheros are basically eggs sunny side up with salsa on top. THATS IT! do you think mexican peasants (hence the name "Rancheros" or from the ranch or ranchers eggs) in the countryside can afford to import olives for their breakfast? lol...

jeez..

The second picture looks like a bowl of Nachos. No sign of eggs. I'm pretty sure eggs are an important part of this dish.

Bell peppers - NO!

[edit]

So many american versions of this dish have bell peppers added - like in the photograph on this article. Adding bell peppers completely ruins it as it just takes over the flavor.

Disambigation

There is a wildly popular canadian punk influenced surf band called Heuvos Rancheros. See [Huevos_Rancheros] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.235.196.93 (talk) 03:01, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this selection belongs here, as it is about huevos in popular culture, while the article is about huevos rancheros.--RLent (talk) 19:35, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was to merge as no objections appeared after two months. Geoff | Who, me? 15:17, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Last year (2017), an editor proposed that Huevos divorciados be merged into Huevos rancheros, but never created a discussion section. It seems like a good idea to me as the content in the Huevos divorciados article can easily be explained in the context of Huevos rancheros as a variation of the basic dish, and the Huevos rancheros article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Huevos divorciados will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Geoff | Who, me? 16:32, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Noticing that it's kind of already been merged, at least to the extent that a sentence about Huevos divorciados appears in this article. Any objections to the merge? Could move over references from the other article and complete the merge if no objections. Geoff | Who, me? 21:08, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Salsa verde

[edit]

@Ptko: I was wondering why you changed the wikilink Salsa verde (Mexico) to salsa verde? "Salsa verde" is a redirect to the "Salsa verde (Mexico)" article? Doesn't it make more sense to have the link to the actual article instead of through a redirect, especially when the Read view just shows "salsa verde"? Maybe I'm missing something?
