Homologues
[edit]I removed the following section (possibly containing a degree of original research):
Huehuecoyotl can be compared to Coyote and Raven, trickster figures of Native American mythology. Others compare him to Hermes, who tricked Apollo and also often broke boundaries. He had also been compared to Prometheus, who tricked and stole from the gods, and was also bound to a rock and tormented by an animal (in his case an eagle) as punishment. During the Viking era, some considered him as corresponding to the god of chaos Saturn/Cronus, and called him Saeter.[1]. In Polynesian mythology, his most similar parallel is the trickster demigod Māui (mythology). Regarding the Nordic mythology, its counterpart would be Loki.he is the type of god that is very troublesome and does all he can in order to give trouble to others.БЅ
There's clearly no actual linkage here to figures such as Hermes, et al, and identifying this as the 'same' deity across different cultures is a bit misleading. Maybe this can belong to some overall mythological-type, cross-cultural comparison article, but it's not all that relevant to the specific Mesoamerican case, the subject of this article.--cjllw ʘ TALK 04:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Huehuecoyotl's lovers
[edit]Any sources? I'm interesting in reading about his relationships but the only source for Opochtli being Huehuecoyotl's lover is this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.248.100.214 (talk) 02:31, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
