re: Article curation

The reason for the redirect is because it was for a deleted article "Hsigo". The article was deleted due to its erroneous nature and unfitness in terms of encyclopedic content. In other words, an article on "Hsigo" as Chinese mythology has been determined as of 20:39, 18 October 2013‎ to not contain valid information justifying its existence. The redirect to "Xiao (mythology" is currently correct, due to the fact that someone using pre-Pinyin Chinese transliteration into English could well use this alternate spelling. However, if someone wishes to do an article on the Internet meme hsigo, then the present Article page should be turned into a redirect. Unfortunately, putting this note on the main Article page will probably just result in a drive-by deletion by someone who doesn't really care about the article content; so, instead, I will place it on the Talk page where it is more likely to be ignored (and, where casual Wikipedia readers won't see it anyway). I'm not sure why other article curation information in the form of template tags is so readily allowed and promoted on Article pages, though. Why is that? In fact, these easy-to-slap-on template inclusion tags seem to provide criticism on articles ("editorial comments"?) all across vast numbers of newer Start class articles, and a few Stubs. Examples include "Not enough inline reference" tags for articles with WP:Parenthetical referencing.

Furthermore, and in conclusion, in the case of someone wanting to create an article on the Internet meme, then "Hsigo" should be made into a Disambiguation page, instead of its current status as a Redirect page. Dcattell (talk) 00:43, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
