Untitled

I have just seen Howie at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas and he was great. He opened his show with a video of a guy singing a song which lasted a good 20 minutes! I would love to know who sang that song or what was it called if anyone saw it and has an idea.

"very odd man wont shake your hand like monk but replaces it with a wierd fist bump very odd and a tad strange ,,"

--I think this should be removed.

David Watanabe??

I think that the addition of this line "* Related to David Watanabe." is a joke of some kind. Therefore, I am removing it. If I am wrong, and Mr. Watanabe really is related to Howie Mandel, then my apologies to both men :) -- Jalabi99 20:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

How Colorblind?

Just how colorblind is Howie Mandel, anyway? Is it just a typical green/red colorblindness or is his vision completely devoid of color? --M.Neko 05:49, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Physics Bending Road Trips

The original stated: Although Mandel tours on the road over 600 days/year and spends much of the rest of his time taping Deal or No Deal, he is one of a relative few major Hollywood stars to have maintained a long-term marriage (he met his wife Terry in high school and they have been married for 26 years as of 2006).

--He travels 600 days a year? I didn't edit this because I don't know what was meant. 24.140.55.164 02:32, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Corrected, that was just some odd vandalism I've undone.--VirtualDelight 09:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Vague Statement

Original Stated: He revealed on The Howard Stern Show that his shaved head is related to natural hair loss, but to his mysophobia. --This is contridictary/vague; did he reveal that his shaved head was related hair loos or mysophobia? Or both? I didn't edit theis because I didn't know what was meant.24.140.55.164 02:34, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The article states: "his shaved head is not related to natural hair loss" ...--VirtualDelight 09:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Shaved fish

I gather that this man's visual trademark is his shaved head. But the current photograph is of a man with a full head of hair. If no-one has any objection I could easily mock up an image of Mr Mandel as a bald man - I could use Photoshop's clone brush to transfer some of the skin on his neck to the top of his head. Or perhaps someone could ask him for a recent photograph. He has a website and seems like a nice enough fellow. -Ashley Pomeroy 18:25, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

I hope you're joking. Putting a Photoshopped portrait of someone on Wikipedia probably would make readers of the article think this is an official picture of his. I don't know Wikipedia's policies very well, but I'd bet my job that there's probably some sort of policy that would state that it wouldn't work for a Wikipedia article to do something like this. 98.202.45.178 04:49, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

While wikipedia woould alow a photoshoped image, is it a good idea? Just use a picture from Deal Or No Deal Blumonkeyboy 22:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

What movie?

What was the movie that Howie Mandel played in, where he is on a date with a girl who orders "spicy" indian food (as does he) and he eats some and "runs around the restaurant screaming in agony?" It is one of the funniest scenes in any movie ever.

High School Dropped Out Or Kicked Out

In the article it states that Howie dropped out of High School but I seem to recall years ago him telling a story on Bob Costas' old NBC show that he was kicked out of High School in Toronto because he called up a construction company and somehow convinced them that the school was looking to have an addition put on, When the construction crew showed up to start work the school's principal confronted them and apparently Howie gave his real name as the contact person and when the principal found out from the construction forman the principal called Howie and his parents into his office and expelled him. Anyone else remember hearing this story? Simon Bar Sinister (talk) 02:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

On Monk

He is shown on Monk, in which the character played by Tony Shalub has a fear of germs, might be at least notable for a sentence or two? - I Already added. IronCrow (talk) 08:05, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Booby during sex?

"Additionally, Mandel enjoys using the voice of Bobby during sex." - This DEFINITELY needs a source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.219.225.105 (talk) 03:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Free Radio as a source?

Since Free Radio is a fictional show I don't know that there is any reason to believe that his statements on that show are factual and not making fun of himself.Jccalhoun (talk) 17:58, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Photo

  • Doesn't anyone have a more recent photo of him? The photo on the page is almost twenty years old and he definitely doesn't look like that now. If no other photo is available, maybe we should just delete it. Anthony Rupert (talk) 02:46, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

An earlier "Howie Mandel"?

I'm (almost) positively sure I remember another comedian or comic actor named "Howie Mandel" who had an active career in the '50s and '60s. I associate him in my mind with people like Louis Nye and Gary Moore and Steve Allen. At first I assumed, on no evidence whatever, that this guy must be the other Howie's son or something, but apparently not. And extensive googling brings up nothing. Anybody? --Michael K. Smith (talk) 23:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Where was he born?

The sidebar says he was born in Kingston, the article it says he was born in Willowdale. So which is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.128.193 (talk) 01:17, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Fixed its Willowdale as per the refs we have.Moxy (talk) 01:22, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

His son Alex

His son Alex recently got a lead role in the movie Killer Holiday, an upcoming thriller movie. I added this to the article, but it's been deleted twice because it was "poorly sourced." My link is an Entertainment Tonight news show in Canada. I have a YouTube link to the show. Is that a poor source? I don't mean to be creating a problem, just adding to the article with real information. I know Alex and I know this is factual. SuzieQHoliday (talk) 00:13, 26 January 2011 (UTC)SuzieQHoliday (talk) 04:12, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

The article about the film is up for deletion. This means the film may not be notable enough to be mentioned in the article. Also Youtube and Facebook are not considered reliable sources per WP:RS. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 00:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Lede dated or destined to be dated?

"Mandel was best known for his role as rowdy ER intern Dr. Wayne Fiscus on the NBC medical drama St. Elsewhere."

That's pretty subjective, is it not? That show is a couple of decades old but the subject has been on television in multiple shows this year. - UnbelievableError (talk) 07:10, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Anarcho capitalist

On America's got talent 2013, he had on a jacket with an anarchy patch in red. Does this mean howie is anarcho capitalist, need to find out if he is Murray rothbard follower. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.40.37.29 (talk) 02:41, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Rock Palace

No mention that Mandel hosted Rock Palace on his page.

Color Blind source

Star Pulse They report in the last paragraph that he is a "color-blind verminophobic" TV guide This is the another source that Howie is colorblind as reported by TV guide. They do not say, as asked before, how colorblind he is. For the longest time it was in the Triva section with a citation needed. Here you go. Please restore it. Thank you very much. --71.205.15.96 22:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

He is indeed colorblind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by UncleBobby629 (talkcontribs) 19:09, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad *that's* been cleared up. I've only ever heard of one person being frightened of ocularly challenged mice, and she cut their tails off. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30A:2C4A:1CB0:65A6:4A64:69A4:C21F (talk) 10:06, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
