Faculty Knoxville College." holding a Fulbright and living for a time in Rome, who published and was written about in the 1970s in the magazine Craft Horizons? When I expanded the article in 2017, I found it difficult to pin down information about Shapiro. It's clear he's had a somewhat unconventional career path. I assume this is the same person. CatfishJim and the soapdish09:38, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Doctorate in Anthropology
Worked with the Ford Foundation... presumably on accreditation of African American colleges in the 1960s.
Also appears to have taught pottery at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge: "Recently shown there was fine raku pottery by Howard Yana Shapiro , a young potter who teaches at the state university in Baton Rouge . I've seen mentions of a Howard-Yana Shapiro married to Nancy and to a Howard Shapiro, ceramicist, married to Alice. I'm inclined to think they are two different people. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 16:57, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
