    1. The background to the creation of the short stories is well scribed.
    2. The comment on self-reassuring "comfort fiction" is a telling point of reference for understanding the departure point for the short stories. A good inclusion.

    1. Although the opportunity is present to lump everything into Science Fiction and Fantasy as a default category for the short stories, it is good to see references to alternate history steampunk, climate fiction, sword and sorcery, post-apocalyptic fiction and cyberpunk, illustrating the range of Jemisin's writing prowess.
