Revised review

[edit]

Below this paragraph is my initial review of this article. The more and more I examined the article and its sourcing, the more and more disappointed I became. My comments began rapidly changing and conflicting with my older ones, so I decided to write this in addition. I will be quick-failing this review, with my additional explanation below. After checking each source individually, I have realized a lot of the claims this article makes are false. The sources this article uses do not back up any of its charting positions, which I do not understand. Through my own research, this song charted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (see 1) and the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (see 2), but this is not mentioned in the article at all. I want to believe this user has good intentions, but after viewing the page history of this article and noticing a pattern of changing peak chart positions without source changes or valid explanations ([1], [2]), I am forced to think the opposite. Initial review

[edit]

This article is only three paragraphs long; just two, if you count the lead. This article is not broad in its coverage, which fails criteria #3 of WP:GA?. I have to admit, this is very disappointing but I will have to immediately quick fail this GA Review. Additional information is necessary before resubmitting for the GA Review process. Info regarding the song's writing process, commercial success, live performances, etc. is needed in this article, and it seems like all of this information exists and is out there too. As I was reviewing this article, I noticed that several sources are being used to back up claims they do not support. I hope this was not intentional. Below, I have identified several areas of the article that could benefit from further revisions.

  • Reference #2 is incomplete; additional citation information such as catalog numbering, artist name, and edition information is necessary
  • Reference #7, is HotNewHipHop a reliable publication?
  • Reference #12, both the original link and the archived link, does not state the song charted in Australia. Furthermore, the Australia Digital Tracks chart only lists up to 40 positions, so this claim that the song peaked at #70 is obviously false
  • Reference #13, both the original link and the archived link, does not state the song charted in Spain
  • Reference #14 links to singer Keyshia Cole's discography, and not K. Michelle's. Also, [3] reveals that the song never even charted in the US
  • The quotation from Vibe's review of the song seems like it would be better placed in a 'Composition' section, based upon the information you chose to include
  • The lead states that Michelle performed the song on Today, but there's no mention of this elsewhere. If a fact is in the lead, it needs to be in the body prose too.
