Salami's rank
[edit]It is written that Salami's rank is mayor general. But this information is based on media news. It would be better if someone adds an official Iranian source, such as an army or government web site.– Amillians (message) 00.50, 26 November 2019
- Completely unnecessary if the news outlet has been deemed a Reliable Source by the Wiki community.50.111.1.254 (talk) 01:59, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Description
[edit]@Wompuo: you removed the content with RS and the quotes are not long. those are his political opinion on important issues like relations with America and his foreign policy. you should try to explain your reasons before deleting them. M1nhm (talk) 07:14, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
@M1nhm: Please refer to the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for what should and what should not be in a Wikipedia article about a living person. I briefly described it why I removed this in my edit comment, here I stated " This is not the place for hawkish quotes". This admittedly was a bit brief so I'll elaborate on that. It's a rather contentious quote from a not very reputable news agency, that alone is reason enough to remove it. Furthermore and Wikipedia is not a newspaper, from this guideline "it is not Wikipedia's job to be sensationalist". This quote IS sensationalist, and it something that belong more in newspaper than in Wikipedia. Therefore I'll be removing the quote again. Wompuo (talk) 21:37, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Wompuo:There is nothing unusual that violate the WP: BOLP. The reaction of salami for his sanction is not hawkish quotes. On the other hand, this sentence: "In January 2019 Salami said: “We will fight them on the global level, not just in one spot. Our war is not a local war. We have plans to defeat the world powers." is supported by an Iranian news agency that is reliable for quoting Iranian POV. if you are not sure about that, please ask its validity in WP:RSN. [edit]Last sentences don't have citations and have poor grammar. Frog9382842 (talk) 01:15, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
