Chart info
[edit]Your article says that Horslips had a no. 1 hit in Germany 1973. Well, this seems not to be the case. In my German Chart Singles 1956-1980 book there are in fact no entries at all by Horselips. (And I strongly believe that this is the only chart book covering Germany in this period). As I got a whole bunch of chart books at home I looked up Horslips in all of them, and found out the following:
Horslips had NO ENTRIES in the following countries/periods:
Germany-Singles 1956-2000 Germany-Albums 1962-1986 Holland-Singles 1965-1997 Holland-Albums 1969-1997 Switzerland-Singles 1968-2000 Norway-Singles 1958-1993 Norway-Albums 1963-1993
Canada-Singles 1975-1999 Canada-Albums 1977-2002 USA- Billboard -no entries on the Top 100 Singles chart, Bubbling Under Singles chart, Bubbling Under Albums charts, the two Rock Tracks charts 81-95 UK- NME - Albums 1962-1986 UK- NME - Singles 1966-1990 UK- 35 Years Of Hit EPs
Horselips had entries in these album books:
UK- Guinness Hit Albums book (which used Music Week charts): 1 entry in 1977 USA- Billboard: 2 entries 78-79 USA- Cash Box: 4 entries 77-79 USA- Record World: 1 entry 79

Fair use rationale for Image:Rollback.jpg
[edit]Image:Rollback.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

This article reads a bit like PR.
[edit]I'm sure that most of the editors working on this article are fans of the band (I'm not too familiar with them myself, but I like what I've heard). As a result, unfortunately, the style of the article sounds a bit too much like a fansite. The writing is a bit informal and fawning, set lists of recent shows are included, etc. Perhaps we could rewrite this in a somewhat more distant, neutral tone? Potential Improvements
[edit]Hello to you all. I hope to make some improvements to this article over the next while. Currently the article has quite a bit of unsourced material which could do with being looked at. To get a well sourced article, quite a bit will likely need to be reworked, sources utilized and material that can not be verified should be removed. Horslips.ie is used significantly; third party sources would help improve the article and I know from initial research that many exist. The overall structure and headings could also be looked at to improve readability and clarity throughout, and perhaps taking inspiration from other high quality articles here on Wikipedia like the U2 and the Beatles articles for example. Now that Horslips have officially taken to the stage for the last time, it seems a good time to do this article justice and in a neutral tone. Feel free to get in touch with me here about anything you wish to discuss. SDominicH (talk) 05:43, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
