Eden 1953 operation
[edit]An oft-quoted euphemism, usually placed in inverted commas, was that "the surgeon's knife slipped". Presumably this is meant to imply that the surgeon cocked up and sliced through the wrong place. Eden nearly died (I think) and was subject to nasty fevers for the rest of his life. It would be nice if somebody with medical knowledge can shed some more light. Paulturtle (talk) 19:36, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
