Requested move 27 February 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: consensus to move the page back to Honeyst, per the discussion below. Please note that this could also have been accomplished through a request to revert an undiscussed move at WP:RMTR. Dekimasuよ! 23:52, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
HONEYST → Honeyst – Unless this is an acronym/initialism, WP:MOSTM clearly states that articles should conform to standard English formatting and capitalization, despite the trademark owner's usage. I can find no evidence that this is an acronym. This should be moved back. Evaders99 (talk) 03:13, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Question: Are there any independent reliable sources that discuss the topic (preferably in English, preferably in detail)? Note that MOS:TM says "Do not invent new styles that are not used by independent sources." On the other hand, perhaps "Honeyst" should be considered the default here, since this is a request to revert a recent undiscussed move. —BarrelProof (talk) 05:17, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- That is the request, yes. As to your question on sources... no, they are either primary sources of the company or unreliable news sites (Allkpop) per WP:KO/RS. This is pretty standard for Kpop groups sadly - they ignore most English conventions like BIGBANG, INFINITE, or SHINee. Evaders99 (talk) 05:25, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- At least this one uses the proposed style. Dicklyon (talk) 06:39, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah but it's ONE OF THOSE crazy websites that just LOVES CAPS In ictu oculi (talk) 18:06, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- At least this one uses the proposed style. Dicklyon (talk) 06:39, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Support – not an acronym, and the proposed alternative is found in the kpop press as noted above. Dicklyon (talk) 06:49, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Agree: Should be moved to Honeyst as the name is not an acronym and the Hangul (허니스트) directly translates as heoniseuteu showing zero initialisms. Abdotorg (talk) 12:45, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Support Honeyst, not an acronym In ictu oculi (talk) 18:06, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Support: This is the same case with English spelling of Twice (band). Thanks. --Garam (talk) 20:33, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
