Building Name

[edit]

What is the name of this building? Is it or is it not Honda Center? After all, isn't that the name of the article? How come every time I make this edit, it gets reverted back? Explain this to me please. Ksy92003 06:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Care to elaborate? It says "Honda Center" in the article... (Perhaps you were trying to change the name prior to October 2006 -- it was still called Arrowhead Pond up to that point. Honda's naming rights did not begin until October.) -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 09:28, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. I am well aware of Arrowhead's naming rights expiring and Honda acquiring them in October. What I am talking about is that I always change the article so it says "Honda Center" instead of "The Honda Center". Look at the version before mine to see what I'm talking about. I changed the article this time, then posted this comment on the talk page. Sorry for the confusion. Ksy92003 15:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay. Quite frankly, I don't think there's a big difference. I personally call it just "Honda Center" (so do the Ducks radio guys and those fellow Ducks fans who stopped calling it the Pond or "Ponda"), but there's no real difference, IMHO, although I agree with your edit. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 18:56, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You would think it wouldn't be a huge difference. But to me, it is a big deal. If I change incorrect information to make it accurate, and if it get's reverted, I would like a sufficient reason behind that. Ksy92003 20:53, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do people still call this arena "the Pond"? toll_booth 15:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Occasionally, Anaheim natives will refer to Honda Center as the "Pond." This isn't because they remain unaware that the name has been changed; rather, it has been referred to as the Pond for so long, ever since the team was founded. It's like a part of the building, a part of the team's history. While the name has been changed, and it isn't known as the "Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim" anymore, Anaheim residents and longtime Ducks fans like to refer to the facility as it has been popularly called. --Ksy92003 04:34, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why isn't this mentioned in the article then? Almost everyone I know calls it "the Pond". Sheep81 11:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
