[edit]I have cleaned the page up a little, and added the UK version. Any other international alternatives? --JiMternet
I've added some more details to your edits and split up the non-US section into 'internaitonal' variations.
Still needs more work though. --Perfectblue97
I'm not sure if the UK section is, strictly speaking, accurate. It sounds correct for England and Wales, but Scotland has a separate education system. In my school (... in Scotland) we just had "Registration Class", and I have never heard of "Tutour Groups", and only heard of "Forms" as an English phenomenon. - "Registration (class)" would seems to be equivalent of "Homeroom" in England and Wales, or at least my experience in England, as well as Scotland. How long Registration lasted seemed to depend on that school. . However, as well as the short registration before morning and afternoon there were also "form periods" or "form lessons" to deal with administrative matters usually at the start or end of term and especially at the start of the school year.Jojas 12:42, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
UK
[edit]The UK section was still inaccurate, it did not apply to any school that I know of. To cover all bases, I refrained from specific 'they last this long this many times a week' type statements and made a general overview. Whilst it may be true that form groupings were used for some of the non-ability-setted classes, this is down to timetabling of each school and is not necessarily the case, at any rate it is a property of a form group and not the homeroom (or registration/tutorial time) and so was removed. Difficult to cite references but I speak broadly from mine and others' experience (no origianal research...oops)...as I said I have left it general and if anyone feels the urge to back things up please do a_boardley (talk) 09:55, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

US-centrism
[edit]The current structure in which for example the Australian entry compares the situation there to the US-situation which is only listed at the bottom of the article is very suboptimal. Maybe someone more familiar with the topic could rework that so that the first occuring country of each kind is capable of standing on its own and the following ones are the ones that mostly list the differences? --Florian Weber (talk) 21:33, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
