Nice work on this page, looking good! All we need now is a photo.. anyone have one? Pfly 18:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you sir.. I'll try to get a picture of the ridge, which is rather difficult to shoot because of its angle to the sun. It's very impressive at night, with the lone TV station tower lights strobing into the darkness. I'm the broadcaster who wrote that article. I also wrote one on "Sharp's Ridge" in Knoxville, Tennessee, but it needs to be "wikified." Another one I authored is a bit of broadcasting trivia concerning "House Mountain" in Knox County, Tennessee. All could use pictures.. I'll try to get some good ones.Csneed 23:27, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Location?

[edit]

When clicking on the coordinates in the info box, it is clear that the coordinates are not in Virginia, nor on the TN/VA border. The coordinates are clearly inside Tennessee - well to the south east of Bristol. Either the coordinates listed or the mention of Holston Mountain's location as also being in Virginia is incorrect. Can someone verify? ++Arx Fortis (talk) 04:17, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added the GNIS entry to the external links section. GNIS clearly states the mountain extends into Virginia. It is 28 miles long, after all. It looks like the coords in the infobox are toward the southern end. Perhaps a more central location should be chosen. And/or detailed coord info given in the text. I'm not sure and don't have time right now though. Pfly (talk) 04:38, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orientation of Panoramic Image?

[edit]

The caption states, "Panoramic view looking northeast towards Johnson County, TN along spine of Holston Mountain from Holston High Knob." but this cannot be correct. Inspection of a map of the locale reveals that Johnson City is behind the photographer to the Southwest. I believe "Panoramic view looking northeast away from Johnson County, TN along spine of Holston Mountain from Holston High Knob." is an accurate, correct caption. --...Up the trail...
