The Simpsons' town of Springfield has a sign, mimicking the Hollywood sign. It should possibly be included in this section. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Springfield.png for reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.121.14.12 (talk) 20:32, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Locals dipleasure at tourist trespassers

This story has been blowing up for the last few months, I thought it might be relevant to add a section about it if anyone fancies. Apparently the advent of GPS tracking and websites means tourists are going right up into the hills, trespassing on private property, blocking people's drives and causing a traffic hazard to get a photo of the sign, and the residents in the hills aren't happy: http://articles.latimes.com/2011/sep/18/local/la-me-tourist-site-20110919 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16107708 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelvideo/8778449/Residents-angry-at-leaking-of-Hollywood-sign-secret.html http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/25/us/gps-puts-hollywood-sign-on-the-beaten-path.html?pagewanted=all http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2040439/Hollywood-residents-fight-hordes-tourists-using-GPS-reach-iconic-sign.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-15565182 http://travel.usatoday.com/destinations/story/2011-08-27/Residents-rue-tourist-traffic-near-Hollywood-sign/50148968/1 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaleeyed (talkcontribs) 17:37, 10 December 2011‎ (UTC)
