Suggested cleanup
[edit]This article imo is a mess. I suggest splitting the three personalities into three different articles. The author and the character are better separated, as there is enough to write about the character that warrants a separate article (the only link between the author and the character is that the author created the illustrations which were made into dolls in which the character was named after). Also, there is enough information about Toot and Puddle to put into it's own article. Just need someone to do that. I would, once I put myself into the right mode, and I am halfway there. The sentence, "Toot and Puddle was music of Holly Hobbie," needs to go. What is it even supposed to mean? Taralynn60 (talk) 11:43, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]if you're going to have pictures, fine. But it would be nice if someone would put up a picture of the genuine article, or her original picture of the fictional version. Hobbie is her married name. She's Polish and her original last name is like 10 letters longEricl (talk) 18:53, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Split
[edit]There is a long standing split tag. At present, the article is supposedly about the author and the character is an aside. In fact there is very little info on the author and most of the article is about the character. Maybe rather than splitting the article and leaving a rather small stub, the article should be re-aligned to be about the character with a small mention of the author. - A redirect exists for the character that could be expanded/forked from the artist's page. Since a live-action series is slated to air in late-2018, I'm in the process of creating its page, and I will also create a disambiguation page for all the character films that have been done, as well as the link to here and the possible character page. — Wyliepedia @ 21:58, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
- I also think that the character should be split in an own article.--Leiflive (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 16:59, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
This should be called Holly Hobbie (Fictional Character), but there shouldn't be one specficially for the author, but she should be briefly mentioned in both articles (This and the TV Series one). IbraaXI (talk) 14:27, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- The person has a successful career as a painter and children's writer, and most of her work is unrelated to the character. There's more than enough to support WP:CREATIVE. pburka (talk) 03:23, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Done. This discussion has been ongoing for at least a decade, so I've performed the split. pburka (talk) 16:09, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
