Edits to Notable Alumni are puzzling
Someone keeps removing the name Haydn Porter from the Notable Alumni section. This has happened at least twice and on both occasions, no reasons were given. Please look up the definition of "notable." Haydn Porter has been in Playboy multiple times, in studio with Howard Stern twice, and on Thursday 20 September was the highest searched item on Google. These things would qualify one for "notable" status. One does not need to be in line with an institution's professed goals in order to qualify as a notable alumni. We can all name two notable alumni of Columbine High that do not reflect the goals of that school. This is not Holland Hall's website and does not serve their PR needs. So unless an adequate reason is given, I think this should constitute vandalism or a violation of rules governing shameless promotion or historical revisionism. This is silly
You contest the inclusion of Haydn Porter as a Notable Alumni because there are "many (perhaps 1000's) that have contributed more to society." Fair enough. Feel free to add them if they are so notable, but your repeated removal of Haydn from this article reeks of personal vendetta. You might also want to look up the definition of "notable." Nothing there indicates that one's clothing (or lack thereof) has any bearing on notability. Your obvious personal distaste for commercialized nudity is not relevant to the matter at hand. So if you are truly motivated by a burning desire to educate the world about the "1000s" of notable Holland Hall alumni, then please add them to the page. I also advise you to be very careful in following Wikipedia's rules about BLP. See you around! GeniusMan009 21:06, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough. But if you are so proud of your accomplishments, why don't you use your real name instead of a hybrid derived from a fellow graduate. Come out of hiding with your real name and the post will stay. 70.142.42.192 21:30, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Changed to real name, Chloe Emanuel. Not all Holland Hall Alumni will recognize stage name, plus there is a record of Chloe graduating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.77.72 (talk) 04:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Public vs private
You are in violation of rules regarding BLP and the three-revert rule, both of which are serious "crimes" in the eyes of Wikipedians. You have no legal right to determine what non-newsworthy information about a living person is disseminated over the internet. It is not up to Haydn Porter to explain herself or to reveal more information than she wishes. Plenty of people in a number of fields have professional names that are distinct from their legal names and they are under no obligation to share them with the world. As for your theories regarding the genesis of her stage name... LOL. Have you not ever seen Star Wars? Joking aside, please be careful with your further actions as they are beginning to fit easily into the legal definition of harassment. Your IP address has been logged. Enjoy the rest of your day. Proposal to Change Article Name
I would like to propose changing the name of this article from Holland Hall School to Holland Hall (Tulsa, Oklahoma). The school does not refer to itself as "Holland Hall School"; all formal references to the name are simply "Holland Hall". See http://www.hollandhall.org/. If necessary, we can add redirects from the current and alternative names. Comments? --Danorton (talk) 17:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
