please tell me who you are and why you keep deleting my page!!

I'm not the one who's been doing it, but an article(Isuzu Gemini) describing this car already exists, and this page should be redirect to Isuzu Gemini. But thank you for contributing, and I would highly suggest you help expand Isuzu Gemini, thanks! Boccobrock 21:32, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats great mate, thanks for explaning something at least, I was starting to get really annoyed, and being new to puting pages on wikipedia I just wanted to practice with the only thing I enough about to write about it. I still think it is necessary to have a holden page for Australia due to very similar situations on wiki as well. By the way I have expanded the Isuzu Gemini page quite a few times. Can person who actually is doing it please step forward and state your reasons. Kaos racing 04:43, 28 September 2007 (UTC) Oh, and by the way just leave it how it is, it isn't going to hurt. • , do link the articles, do not merge them. The Holden Gemini page and Isuzu Gemini page contain very different information, with the Holden Gemini page containing information relevant to its release in Australia that is not relevant to the Isuzu Gemini page, and would therefore lack sense if included on there. Thank you! Kaos racing 03:15, 16 November 2007 (UTC) Can any body tell me how to put a copyright tag on images so they don't get deleted?Kaos racing 08:14, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know a heap about posting images, I've only ever uploaded pics I've taken myself - so they're free use. Wikipedia:Upload is probably the best for uploading pictures as it gives you the info you need, short and sweet. Just click on the type of picture you have and it will tell you whether its okay for upload, and how to do it. Hope this helps. Tinkstar1985 10:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As for the Keep - Don't Merge bit, please discuss why at WP:CARS as this is where this issue have now been brought up, considering this has been the second time the merge tag has been removed without any edit summary to explain why. Willirennen (talk) 04:35, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm in favour of merging the two articles. Perhaps if the Holden Gemini was sufficiently different from the Isuzu Gemini, for example, like the Ford Laser was different from the Mazda Familia it was based on, but the changes were relatively minor. A lengthy Gemini in Australia paragraph on the Isuzu Gemini page could perhaps be most appropriate. Certainly the content lends itself towards expanding the 1974 section of Isuzu Gemini which is quite thin. It isn't going to hurt is not sufficient grounds. What is sufficient grounds is to explain how the car was different to the Isuzu, which has not really been done. The diesel engine might be the best defence as I do not believe that was offered in the Isuzu. The problem is unnecessary duplication of information. If wikipedia did not police issues of duplication of articles there would be the potential for a massive blow out in content. --Falcadore (talk) 06:22, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New information

[edit]

Guys, I have added some additional information to this page, up until the TD series. I will add some more most likely tomorrow as I do not have time today. I have also marked one section as needing citation, and removed one false section. Hopefully this will help slow down or stop the fights which are breaking out on both this and Isuzu Gemini Pages.

If anyone else has anything to add, feel free just make sure you cite references. Virtualr84 (talk) 12:23, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what was the false section that you removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaos racing (talkcontribs) 03:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I placed explanations in the edits, it was due to references to the Isuzu Gemini ZZ/Z, which doesn't exist, ZZ/Z was a Holden designed variant only. There were also other incorrect statements such as that the Gemini came out with a 1.8 litre engine in some models which I corrected, the car was only available in 1.6, 1.8 and 2 litre engines were sourced from Rodeos and placed into Geminis.
In regards to this statement which Tinstar corrected,

"The RB was only available as a sedan, due to Isuzu not having the money-resources to develop other variants."

That is entirely untrue, Isuzu Japan did develop hatchback versions and many different variations of the FWD series Gemini at the time and for a lot of following years. It was Holden that decided to import only the sedan, other models were made and sold overseas. Thanks for fixing that up Tinkstar. Just posting this here so the person who originally entered that information knows that the statement is in fact false.
