Starting to review the article based on Wikipedia:Good article criteria:

  1. Well-written: criteria demands that the "prose is clear". While this is otherwise well-written, there remains one instance of unclear prose the "idea was spinning around" phrase.
  2. Factually accurate and verifiable: fact-checked.
  3. Broad in its coverage: major sections meets expectations: Background, Composition, Reception/Charts, Video, Credits
  4. Neutral.
  5. Stable: no content disputes.
  6. Illustrated: one image, one recording: both meet Fair Use criteria.

Notes as I review...
  • Intro - Overly long sentence ("Written by the...") please break it up. One sentence = one thought. You can connect two thoughts with an "and" but in this case break it up with one sentence on its production and one sentence on its release.
  • Background - 1st paragraph - "their initial idea was spinning around for a few minutes..." - please either clarify (what does a 'spinning idea' mean? is it a metaphor for something?) or use the quote from the source (but only quote if the exact wording is important/relevant, otherwise paraphrase).
  • Background - 2nd paragraph - "record."[2]" - there is a stray quotation mark between the period and the citation. I cannot find the matching (opening?) quotation mark.
  • "Copyright ©1983" - Who specifically owns the copyright to File:Hold Me Now-ThompsonTwins.ogg? Same with File:HoldMeNo-ThompsonTwins cover.jpg.
  • Reception 2nd paragraph - "not technically very good, but he's clearly trying very hard" - quotes must match the source. There is a missing word here.
  • Reception 2nd paragraph - Same as above: "is a bit labored, but that overall it deserved its huge hit status".[6] - to skip words in a quote, use an ellipsis.
  • Why is "Music video" split into two paragraph. Seems like it should be one.
  • "Charts" - "band's first top five in the country,[15]" - The citation provided doesn't seem to say it was the band's first
  • "Chart" - "gold in May 1983.[22]" shouldn't it be 1984? The reference is also dated 1983 but should probably be 1984.
Conclusion

This is a very good article. Only one thing to be cleaned up (see above). maclean 05:07, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking the time to review the article. About the background, the article have this: According to Bailey, "Hold Me Now" was written "very quickly. The initial idea—I was spinning around. We realized in a matter of minutes that we had a very strong idea." I am not sure but I think what Bailey is saying is that the idea was spinning in his head, or that he was trying to work around the initial idea. I don't know if you can help me with that part, Do you have any suggestions with this? Thanks again for your time. Regards Frcm1988 (talk) 05:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think the term is nonsense. He could be referring to some kind of brainstorming excerise, or a tune (or concept) in his mind, or a number of different activities. How does this sound: [1] "...including "Hold Me Now", which according to Bailey "had a very strong idea"[2] behind it and was written very quickly." maclean 19:30, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
