Date of death is November 22, 1931 (not Nov. 27) according to http://www.doi.gov/past_secretaries.html Dananderson 22:00, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress has Nov 27 [1]. University of Georgia houses his papers and lists his death as Nov 27 [2]. Encyclopedia Britannica, though wrong almost as often as wikipedia, lists his death as Nov 27 [3]. Thanks for making me go back and check, though. Sayeth 14:40, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the move of this page, Hoke Smith (97%) is the only iteration of Smith's name that constitutes over 5% of references to him on newspapers.com in Georgia. Star Garnet (talk) 22:48, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
