Should this page have a link to long song titles like this?

Dr. Hoagy
The article notes that Hoagy got an honorary doctorate in music from Indiana. There's a "citation needed" after that. I found a page at indiana.edu that lists the honorary degrees they've awarded, and sure enough, "Hoagland Carmichael" is there. Sadly, I don't know how to add the needed reference to the article. Here's the URL: http://www.indiana.edu/~ceremony/honors/honorarydegrees.shtml Can some clever Wikipedian hook this up? 151.199.248.111 03:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Citation Edits done!
I was happy to not only add the citation you pointed out, but to also cite his addition to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Refsworldlee 02:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
As of this post, all citation edits done
There are currently no outstanding citations required as of this time stamp. Refsworldlee(chew-fat) 20:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Influence
It said in later years, it said that John Lennon was a fan of Carmichael. I don't know if he was. I do know that George Harrison had Carmichael as his biggest pre-rock influence. It could be a typo that Lennon admired Carmichael. This should be looked into. Harrison; it's well known to us fans.Sposato (talk) 04:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- "Well known to us fans" - that's not a published reliable source though is it? I am updating the citation tag in the article, and if not answered within a reasonable time, the unrefrenced content may well be removed. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 09:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Regular
This article doesn't mention Hoagie being on as a regular on a talk TV show where he was on all the time ??? Durante, Tonight show, what was it ? As there he was playing the piano and singing a song . ??? /s/ wilsin pikit jr 76.202.167.248 (talk) 03:53, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
To Have and Have Not
I believe that Hong Kong Blues IS one of the songs played in the movie. I think the first paragraph in 1940 section should be updated. I have watched it often enough to recall the song specifically - I don't have a copy of the movie handy, can someone confirm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by F4goto (talk • contribs) 05:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it's definitely there. --ubiquity (talk) 10:09, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Doubled info
In the song list, "Riverboat Shuffle" is listed twice, under 1924 and 1939. Any reason or should one be deleted?Cosprings (talk) 14:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
1930's
Shouldn't the title of 'Up a Lazy River' be just Lazy River? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davehorne (talk • contribs) 01:44, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Movie roles
He appeared as "cricket" in "To Have and to Have Not" staring Lauren Bacal and Humphrey Bogart. The year was 1944.

- Just MY 2cents... one of my fav Hoagy movies.. Young Man with a Horn (1950), were scenes where he and Doris Day played/sang a few tunes.. like two old? friends doing what they do natural. 2600:1700:A760:C10:3470:6039:6E60:345C (talk) 19:06, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
Discography
Usually, with a famous person in the music field, there is included in Wikipedia a discography and I wonder why there is none for Hoagy? I have an LP of his that appears to have been recorded in the 1957 on 33 1/3 RPM entitled "Hoagy Sings Carmichael" with the Pacific Jazzmen arranged and conducted by Johnny Mandel, serial number Pacific Jazz PJ-1223. It includes the following songs, Georgia on my Mind, Winter Moon, New Orleans, Memphis in June, Skylark, Two Sleepy People, Baltimore Oriole, Rockin' Chair, Ballad in Blue and Lazy River. Featured soloists are: Art Pepper, Harry Edison, Don Fagerquist, Harry Klee and Jimmy Rowles.
I also subscribe to Jerry Osborne's online record priceguide and he doesn't list Hoagy either. What's up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by HiredGuns1 (talk • contribs) 00:45, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- I started a discography section in the article. It isn't a complete list, but the ones listed have citations added as well.Rosalina523 (talk) 18:31, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Incorrect photo of house
The photo shown in the article is not Hoagy's house in Bloomington, Indiana. His house was at 536 S Washington st, and was recently involved in a fire. http://bloomingtonthenandnow.wordpress.com/2013/03/23/hoagy-carmichael-536-s-washington-more-likely-the-song-stardust-was-written-over-a-period-of-time/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.108.224.212 (talk) 19:25, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
I also question whether that house, at 214 N. Dunn St., is where Hoagy lived. I had relatives who lived within a block of that address, a long time ago, who were well aware of Hoagy and his career, but they never mentioned him living near them. Looking at the U. S. Census from the early 20th century, I found:
- 1900 - the Carmichaels were living at 325 E. 10th St., about a half mile away.
- 1910 - they were living in Missoula, Montana.
- 1920 - they were in Indianapolis.
So, when did Hoagy ever live on Dunn Street? DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 03:14, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Ian Fleming/James Bond
The James Bond reference is repeated in the article..it looks like someone tagged it on at the end without reading the entire article..this should be fixed don`t you think? 66.191.216.81 (talk) 13:51, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- The portion of the section on Ian Fleming is fine as far as the fact that Fleming said his image of Bond was Carmichael with a scar; however the assertion that “intriguingly” Fleming resembled Carmichael is purely POV, surely? Jock123 (talk) 09:42, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- I combined the repeated sections into the "In popular culture" section - and cited the source about the Casino Royale description. I couldn't find a reference about the two men (Fleming and Carmichael) resembling each other - so I left it in there. I hope someone can provide it.Rosalina523 (talk) 18:37, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Jonesy
Shouldn't this article include his TV role as Jonesy on the Western show Laramie? He had second starring billing after John Smith. ScarletRibbons (talk) 10:02, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- I added that content with a citation reference. Rosalina523 (talk) 18:38, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Robert Fuller, who played "Jess" as costar, is linked to the wrong Robert Fuller. The actor is NOT the wrestler. The actor was obviously NOT eight years old when the show premiered. Rags (talk) 01:11, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Hoagland or Hoaglund? Both are there without explanation.
