GA
[edit]This article is very well written, and it seems that, hands-down, it deserves GA. Well sourced, too. The only problem I have is that you need to include Fair Use Rationales for all the pictures. I see some of the pictures do have a rationale on the picture page, but not on this page. It is a minor detail to me and as long as it gets done fairly soon, I won't remove it from the GA list! Otherwise, great work. └Jared┘┌talk┐ 03:40, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'll get right on it, thanks! Quadzilla99 03:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
DoneQuadzilla99 03:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)- Well, not quite. The help page on FURs says that you need to include one of these:
<!-- FAIR USE of IMAGENAME.jpg: see image description page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IMAGENAME.jpg for rationale -->
- after each image in the page that is a fair use image. But it's quick. Just fill it in and slap it in place. └Jared┘┌talk┐ 03:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Done, I'll also add them to MJ as the FAC, even thought it's breezing through now, was extremely contentious before it was re-set and I would hate to have any complaints. Quadzilla99 04:17, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, not quite. The help page on FURs says that you need to include one of these:
Fair use rationale for File:1927Giants.jpg
[edit]File:1927Giants.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with File:Miracle at the meadowlands.jpg
[edit]The image File:Miracle at the meadowlands.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
The following images also have this problem:

Why 1978?
[edit]Why is 1978 the cutoff point for this article? It seems to me that 1975, when they moved to a new stadium, would be a more logical cutoff point. I suppose 1978 does mark the low point in the team's history, but they continued to be lousy until the mid-1980s. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 21:51, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I had to pick a break off point. 1979 is when they hired George Young and drafted Phil Simms. And the owners themselves make it clear that hiring Young was a huge turning point in the history of the franchise:[1] Maybe I can make it more clear somehow. [edit]This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. The article history has been updated to reflect this review. There is a certain amount of link rot, however. I tried to do something about this, but to limited effect. The problem is not serious enough to warrant a delisting, though.
