- Council of Europe
- Early Cold War
- Early development of the ECSC and what it did in the early years
- The Benelux, Nordic Council and early EFTA developments.
- Other events outside the Community which impacted upon it
- Better links between this article and events in the rest of Europe at this time.
- Marshall plan and the OEEC
Also the article needs better referencing and the Germany section needs checking.
