Regulation is derivate of Regula or Regulus

This wikipedia entry has been infortunately by some lobbies wikipedia censorhip! Regulation meaning here is different of "Control" "Coordination" "Dispatch".

It might be useful to have an account of the Medical and Dental Students' Registers, which were published annual by the GMC from the 1870s until the onset of the second world war. Why were they set up? Why were they discontinued? Dame Janet Smith, who chaired the Shipman Inquiry which reported in 2002, advised setting up such a register for medical students.
