[edit]This article was extensively worked on in my user area before I moved it here. Past history will be found there (from March 18, 2007-April 15, 2007). Ksheka 10:11, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
The article begins by naming Antonio Egas Moniz as the first to perform angiography, in 1927. According to the eponymous article, that is true, but the only angiographic work cited in that article is cerebral angiography, for which Egas Moniz was nominated twice for a Nobel Prize but did not win. Since the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine was awarded in 1956 jointly to Forssman, Cournand, and Richards for their development of coronary angiography, if Egas Moniz had preceded those winners in developing coronary angiography even in the least, it is hard to believe that the Nobel Committee would have ignored him in 1956. Egas Moniz is properly credited in Wikipedia with cerebral angiography, but he deserves no more than that. I have edited the article to remove other assertions that previously were there.LM6407 (talk) 07:15, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Crown Stent
[edit]Dean Kamen often receives praise for inventing the "Crown Stent," said to be an improvement on the Palmer-Schatz stent.
Is the Crown Stent a significant development in this field? If so, would someone please add information to the article. 174.24.81.157 (talk) 05:41, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
Updates
[edit]I'm working to update info and secondary source findings for this page, going section by section as I can get to them. The most recent source was from 2008. Given how the situation seems to have changed since then, I figure it's time for a refresh. Please let me know if any of my edits are off base - I'd welcome the input.
