Future

[edit]

POV-check: The Future section is a vague synthesis of unsupported predictions, opinions, and advocacy. I am not very clear on the point being made, but if this is to be kept it needs neutrality, citations, focus, and eliminate use of the first person. 67.130.129.135 (talk) 16:11, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly support the above opinion. I agree that the audit function is an important oversight process, however the author of this section has a somewhat inflated view of actual impact of audit reports. I work in the field and in many instances, audit reports are not acted on or are refuted. This statements also suggests that the work of the IT developers, system manufacturers and IT security experts are secondary to the audit.

I propose the following rewrite: IT auditing is a rapidly growing segment of the accounting profession. Properly executed IT audits will contribute significantly to improving the security, reliability and accuracy of information systems. Dagobert29 September 27, 2009, 12:55(UTC+2)
